Disability Sports Day, December 4th 2009,

Wicklow Local Sports Partnership hosted a Disability Sports Day on Friday 4th December 2009 from 10am-3pm at Shoreline Leisure Centre, Mill Road, Greystones as part of Accessibility Awareness Week 2009. The Disability Sports Day
was delivered over two sessions, with a morning session running from 10am-12pm and an afternoon session running from 1.00-3.00pm.
The Wicklow Disability Sports Day provided those with physical, intellectual, sensory and learning disabilities with the opportunity to participate in a variety of fun and exciting sports such as Football for All, Table Tennis, Athletics, Archery, Badminton, Adapted Kurling, Handcycling and Boccia. Sports
were delivered by fully qualified coaches and sports development officers from participating National Governing Bodies of Sport such the FAI, Badminton Ireland, Irish Wheelchair Association and Cerebral Palsy Sport Ireland.
In addition to this participants had the opportunity to express their
creative and artistic side by participating in a sports mural project lead by
the Wicklow County Arts Office.
