County Development Board Introduction
The Office of Community Cultural and Social Development was specifically established as the main support for Wicklow County Development Board
Wicklow CDB is the body responsible, as part of a national Government initiative, for improving integration and co-ordination of activity between statutory and non-statutory agencies within the county. 30 representatives from local government, local development agencies, the State agencies (operating locally) and the social partners (including voluntary/community sector) participate on the Board of Wicklow CDB.
April 2002 saw the launch of the Wicklow CDB strategy ‘Outlook’ – a comprehensive ten-year strategy for the social, cultural and economic development of County Wicklow. ‘Outlook’, as a strategy, provides an overall framework within which all development and the delivery of public services in Co. Wicklow occur.
A review of the Strategy was undertaken for the period 2009 – 2012. The review refocused the work of Wicklow CDB which is now concentrating on a number of priority actions.
