Community and Heritage Awards Scheme
Wicklow County Council's Community and Heritage Award Scheme is designed to assist local community groups and organisations benefit from small scale or once off funding to support the groups’ activities or to develop a particular project.
The Scheme has five categories to reflect the type and nature of the majority of grants sought by community groups and organisations. The five categories are as follows:
- Community Activity Award
- Social Inclusion Award
- Anti-Racism Award
- Sports Participation Award
- Heritage Award
The funding available for the overall scheme in 2010 was €100,000. €80,000 was available to the applicants for the Community Award Scheme and €20,000 to applicants for the Heritage Award Scheme.
The scheme is advertised in the local papers in March every year with grants being allocated usually by the following June.
