Please Note:
These collections are for householders only.
The collection carried out by a private contractor on behalf of Wicklow County Council under Hazardous Waste Licensing Legislation.
The collections are FREE for the public and the cost is covered by the budget allocated for Recycling in the County Council's 2010 budget.
Note that all types of batteries, engine oils, cooking oils, fluorescent tubes, light bulbs are accepted at all times in any of the County Councils Recycling centres.
Electrical items are not accepted at the hazardous waste collections. These can be brought to any Recycling Centre.
It is not always possible to predict amount of hazardous waste materials which will be delivered to the collections. As materials must be kept separately, stored and sealed in protective containers in the truck and because they are hazardous, there is a limit to the space available for each type of item.
Materials May Not Be Left At The Locations Outside Of Collection Times. Fines For Littering Will Be Issued.
Chemcar collections are provided by Wicklow County Council and part-sponsored by Shering-Plough Ltd., Avondale, Rathdrum.
