Housing Estate Management
The Estate Development Officer continued to provide valuable assistance and information to
residents during 2007. Financial assistance was provided to facilitate worthwhile projects
that were initiated by the Residents Associations. Thirty nine estates received grants in 2007.
The Estate Development Officer ran an “Estate Development Awards Scheme” the purpose of which was
to reward those Residents Associations/Committees who play an active role in the managing and
improvement of their estates. Marks were awarded in relation to general appearance, absence of
litter, maintenance of open spaces and evidence of grant well utilised.
A number of pre-tenancy courses were held in 2007. These courses provide valuable information
to tenants. Speakers usually include the Environmental Awareness Officer, Fire Prevention Officer,
a representative from MABS, Local Gardai, our own Housing Officer, Tenant Liason Officer, Estate
Development Officer and a member of our construction team.
