Development Plan Status
The Variation to Part 3 of the County Development Plan containing the
Greystones/Delgany and Rathdrum plans, made in November 2003, remains in
force pending the preparation of Local Area Plans for these towns. The
variation incorporated a revised Greystones Harbour and North Beach Action
Plan.
The Action Plan contains objectives to provide a high quality integrated
harbour/marina mixed development linked to a linear coastal public park and
a future heritage park. It is also an objective to provide leisure,
recreational, open space and marine facilities, and mixed form residential,
commercial, civic and social amenities, centred around the harbour and
marina with a link to the coastline and the Cliff Walk. Coastal protection
works will also be between the harbour development, the possible future
heritage park, and the outstanding beauty of the natural coastal landscape
up to Bray Head. KMD Architecture prepared concept layouts of the objectives
contained in the Action Plan at the time.
