MISSION STATEMENT
‘Our mission is to identify, collect, preserve and make available the archives, both public and private, of County Wicklow and to manage the records of Wicklow County Council, according to best practices’.


VISION


To preserve the valuable records of County Wicklow, as national heritage and make them accessible to present and future generations.

Shaping the history of your county

Archives are the accumulated unique records of an individual or institution that warrant permanent preservation because of their value to their creator (Local Government) for their legal, administrative or fiscal purposes or to researchers because of their potential research value.

Archival material is fragile and may deteriorate easily.
It has specific requirements and needs to be securely stored and maintained under proper conditions and listed for easy retrieval.
