Parking Bye-Laws 2017

Following a period of public consultation, in which over 250 submissions were considered, Wicklow County Council have now updated Bye-Laws in relation to Parking countywide. The towns covered by these byelaws include Bray, Greystones, Wicklow & Arklow.

Wicklow Co Co Parking Bye-Laws 2017 were adopted by Wicklow County Council members at a meeting held on 12th June 2017 and come into effect on Monday 28th August 2017.

Pay Parking in Greystones

Pay Parking commenced in Greystones on Tuesday 5th August 2008.

Parking Control in the Town Centre will increase the supply of short term parking and reduce the problems caused with illegal / inappropriate parking.

The Park and Ride facility on Mill Road, which has 462 spaces, will continue to operate free of charge for commuters and those who do not wish to pay to park.

Cliff Walk

The Bray to Greystones Cliff Walk is one of the most spectacular coastal walks in Ireland but unfortunately it has been the subject of severe coastal erosion over the years. This is particularly evident at the southern (Greystones) end of the walk where erosion of the boulder clay cliffs has resulted in the walk becoming dangerous in parts.

Wicklow County Council has recently purchased in excess of 2 acres of land and relocated and resurfaced a section of the path in order to make it accessible to the many walkers who use it on a regular basis.
