The Anglo-Irish Treaty and Wicklow

Upcoming talks in Wicklow County Buildings

Wicklow County Archives Service is proud to present three public talks to mark the coming of the National Archives’ exhibition The Treaty, 1921: Records from the Archives to Wicklow Library & Archives.

The talks will take place in the Council Chamber, County Buildings.  The first of the talks will take place on Wednesday the 27th of April at 7pm – Dr Cormac Moore will discuss the negotiations between Sinn Féin and the British government. Culminating in the signing of the Treaty in the early hours of 6 December 1921, Dr Moore will analyse the main issues negotiated and the fall-out of the Treaty.  Dr Cormac Moore is an historian and author. He has published widely on Irish history, and his most recent book is Birth of the Border: The Impact of Partition in Ireland.
