Intention to close - Temporary Road Closures

To submit an objection in relation to any of the following Temporary Road Closures

                                               PROVISION FOR TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PUBLIC ROAD 

 

Wicklow County Council hereby gives notice that it proposes the temporary closure of the following public roads.

Road to be closed

L-1027-1 - Chapel Road, Delgany.

Phase 2

Section from the Junction of Beechbrook Park (L-5222-0) to the Junction of Chapel Road/ Dromont (L-10284-0)

Period of closure

Monday 18th May 2026 to Wednesday 30th September 2026.

Alternative Routes

South bound

starts at the Junction of L1027 & L10272, allowing access to

L-10284-0. South diversion is approx. 600m to the roundabout at Delgany Wood. Drive 640m down Delgany Wood Avenue, turn left and continue 300m on Church Road until you reach R761 northern mini roundabout at Killincarrig. Turn left at the first exit and continue 2.25km until you reach the Blacklion Manor Road.

 

North bound

The North diversion is 1km to the Blacklion Manor Road then follow the south diversion route vice versa.

 

 

Reason for Closure

 

This closure is necessary to facilitate the Chapel Road Pedestrian and Cyclist Infrastructure Improvement Scheme

 

Any person wishing to object to the proposed road closure must lodge their objection in writing to Transportation and Roads, Wicklow County Council, County Buildings, Wicklow Town, Co Wicklow or via email at roadtrans@wicklowcoco.ie not later than 12.00 noon on Tuesday the 28th April 2026.
