Rathdrum is a designated Level 5 'Small Growth Town' settlement. Rathdrum was previously a designated ‘Scheduled Town’. A Local Area Plan has been maintained for Rathdrum given its planned population targets and its acknowledged higher order function in the settlement hierarchy.
