Safety in School

Fire safety tips and advice aimed at schools.

All schools should have a Fire Safety Register, which must be available for inspection on request by a Fire Officer (authorised under the Fire Services Acts 1981 and 2003) as described in the Code of Practice. Schools should be managed in accordance with the Department of the Environment’s Code of Practice for the Management of Fire Safety in Places of Assembly, as published by the Stationery Office and available through any bookseller or directly through the Government Publications website.
