Wicklow County Campus a joint venture developed by Wicklow County Council in conjunction with the Institute of Technology Carlow, provides higher education programmes on the campus located in the former Clermont College in Rathnew.
Wicklow County Council acquired Clermont House and grounds, at Rathnew, in 2006 in order to address the lack of higher-level educational course provision in the County.
Since then, Wicklow County Campus offers a variety of Lifelong Learning higher education programmes on a part-time basis in partnership with The Institute of Technology Carlow (IT Carlow). The education programme has been gradually expanded to cater for growing demand and the courses are tailored to business needs.
Wicklow County Council aims to develop Wicklow County Campus as a Centre of Excellence in Enterprise, Education and Innovation in County Wicklow so that the campus acts as a catalyst for Economic Development in the County.
The Wicklow County Campus at Clermont College, Rathnew, is an impressive 25.75 hectares (63.6 acres) facility. The building comprises spacious offices, meeting rooms in Clermont House, as well as a large conference venue, classrooms, a college library and IT rooms in the school building.
It is the vision to accommodate all of County Wicklow State Agencies at the campus, with Wicklow County Enterprise Board already in situ.
