Debris Warning - South Wicklow Coastline - UPDATED 28/10/2022 Includes Hotline For Reporting Debris

Please be advised that debris from the damaged No.5 wind turbine (Position 52° 47’ 47”.7N, 005° 56’ 38”.4W) at the Arklow Wind Farm may be floating and drifting in a generally north easterly direction.  Direction of drift is estimated, therefore all mariners are strongly advised to keep a proper lookout and navigate with extreme caution.  Debris has been located  at the following locations Ardanairy, Brittas Bay North & South, Buckroney and Ennerilly beaches.  In the interest of safety the public are advised to avoid beaches in the immediate area.  A clean-up operation is under way.

(Please note that this is a number for a specialist clean-up contractor and not Wicklow County Council).

Over the bank holiday weekend clean up crews will be working on the following beaches / coastal areas

·       Arklow Habour

·       Brittas Beach

·       Greystones
