East Coast Offshore Renewable Energy Event:

Aligning Skills, Policy and Supply Chain

Wicklow County Council, in partnership with the East Coast Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Network, is excited to announce the Offshore Renewable Energy Event 2025, a major networking opportunity aimed at connecting industry professionals, educators, and businesses. This event will help secure the future of offshore renewable energy for the East Coast.

Event Details:

Date: Tuesday, November 18, 2025

Time:  8:30 am to 3 pm

Location: Arklow Bay Hotel

This event serves as a crucial platform for businesses, government agencies, job seekers and educators. It will highlight the immense opportunities and challenges within the East Coast ORE sector. Building on the success of the inaugural 2024 event, the main objective is to develop and attract the critical skills and workforce training needed in the industry, ensuring the region is prepared for the upcoming wave of development.

The event will focus on key topics such as Skills, Supply Chain, Policy, and Education, ensuring the East Coast has the expertise necessary to support the expanding offshore industry. Attendees will gain practical information from an impressive lineup of speakers from industry and government, including major energy companies, educational and training providers, local supply chain businesses and relevant government agencies. This will provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the sector's needs and how they can position themselves to fill existing gaps and seize opportunities in offshore renewable energy.

Cllr. Melanie Corrigan, Cathaoirleach of Wicklow County Council, stated, "The East Coast ORE Event is a crucial date on our calendar, providing a tangible pathway for our communities and local businesses to participate in the green energy transition. The benefits to the county—ranging from job creation to local investment are immense, and this event ensures we are proactively preparing to realise that potential."

Emer O'Gorman, Chief Executive of Wicklow County Council, remarked, "The scale of opportunity presented by the Offshore Renewable Energy sector is truly transformative for the East Coast. This event demonstrates a clear appetite for collaboration, training and innovation across the supply chain. Wicklow County Council is committed to working with the East Coast Offshore Network to ensure that our communities, businesses and educators are fully equipped to support this vital green industry and advance our economic, climate and sustainability goals."

By attending the ORE Event 2025, individuals and organisations will have the chance to engage directly with stakeholders and gain a thorough understanding of the future direction of the East Coast's ORE sector.
