A new playground was officially opened in Bog Meadow, Enniskerry yesterday, by Cathaoirleach of Wicklow County Council, Cllr. Melanie Corrigan.
Also in attendance at the opening was Chief Executive of Wicklow County Council, Emer O’Gorman, along with staff and representatives from Wicklow County Council.
Funded by the LEADER programme through County Wicklow Partnership and Wicklow County Council, the playground is a welcome addition to the village, providing a high-quality, inclusive space for the children of Enniskerry to foster connection, promote inclusivity, and to serve the needs of the community for many years to come.
Speaking at the opening, Cathaoirleach of Wicklow County Council, Cllr. Melanie Corrigan, said, “I would like to thank to everyone involved in the planning, funding, and construction— Wicklow County Council, especially the staff of Bray Municipal District, County Wicklow Partnership and Kompan. This playground is a true testament to what we can achieve when we work together. This playground is a fabulous asset and amenity for the village and our community.”
Chief Executive of Wicklow County Council, Emer O’Gorman commented, “As we celebrate the completion of this project today, let us also look ahead to the endless possibilities that lie before us in developing Bog Meadow for the future. This playground is a reflection of what can be achieved when we work together, when we support one another, and when we build with purpose.”
The playground is a collaboration between the Bog Meadow Management Company CLG, Wicklow County Council and County Wicklow Partnership, the works were part funded by the EU through the 2023 -2027 LEADER programme Ireland’s, CAP Strategic Plan (CSP), local donations and fundraising. The playground is a welcome addition to the village, providing a high-quality, inclusive space for the children of Enniskerry to foster connection, promote inclusivity, and to serve the needs of the community for many years to come.
