Status Yellow Warning – Update

All areas within the Arklow, Wicklow, Bray, Greystones and Baltinglass Municipal Districts are continuing to be closely monitored, following the impacts of the recent weather event and pending rainfall forecast for tomorrow.

Localised flooding still exists on some local roads in each area; these are being monitored and re-opened as appropriate.

District outdoor staff and drainage contractors will continue to respond to flooding events across the districts. Sandbags are available for the public to collect from the district council depots and are being restocked.

Wicklow County Council is urging the public to please drive carefully, as weather events and flooding have caused debris to be washed onto road surfaces and damage has been caused. Crews are out inspecting and repairing where possible. Regular updates will be provided across social media and the website.

All fire stations in Wicklow are receiving regular weather updates and are monitoring local conditions in anticipation of flooding and other emergencies that may occur in the coming days. Fire Service and Civil Defence will deploy when required.

To date, no one has availed of Rest Centre accommodation in Aughrim. A steady stream of people availed of the day hub, and this will remain open for day supports. If deemed necessary, the Civil Defence will mobilise the Rest Centre.
