Wicklow County Council was proud to honour a remarkable group of employees who have reached significant career milestones, demonstrating exceptional dedication, professionalism and loyalty throughout their years of service. This year’s Long Service Awards recognised staff members marking 25, 40 and 50 years with the organisation.
The ceremony took place on Thursday 5th March at the Arklow Bay Hotel, where colleagues gathered to celebrate the invaluable contributions of long-serving team members.
Congratulating those who were honoured at the awards, Cllr. Melanie Corrigan, Cathaoirleach of Wicklow County Council, said: “The contribution of the staff in their many years of service is a true reflection of the dedication to their work. They have strengthened our communities through this unwavering commitment, and it is only fitting that they have been recognised in these awards.”
Chief Executive of Wicklow County Council Emer O’Gorman also paid tribute to the award recipients, stating, “Our long-serving colleagues embody the values that define Wicklow County Council. Their commitment has shaped our culture, strengthened our organisation and enabled us to deliver excellence for the people of Wicklow year after year.”
This year’s celebration brought together employees from across the organisation, reflecting the strong sense of community and continuity that long‑serving staff help to build.
