€6 Million Allocated to New Fire Stations For West Wicklow
Wicklow County Council welcomes the announcement of funding for two new fire stations to be built in Dunlavin and Baltinglass under the Government’s new multimillion Fire Services Capital Programme. This represents a combined investment of €6 million for the two fire stations.
In addition, Wicklow has been allocated two new fire appliances to maintain and improve the quality of the fleet.
Cathaoirleach of Wicklow County Council, Cllr. Melanie Corrigan acknowledged the significant investment in Co. Wicklow, saying, “This announced investment in fire stations and fire engines will reinforce public safety in our communities and ensure that our critical infrastructure and essential services are protected.”
The sentiment was echoed by Brian Gleeson, Deputy Chief Executive of Wicklow County Council, who stated, “The announcement of Minister Brown in relation to two new fire stations in Dunlavin and Baltinglass represents a significant investment in the safety, resilience and wellbeing of communities in west Wicklow. The additional announcement of two new fire engines will ensure that our fire services will have a modern fleet to meet the challenges they face on a daily basis.”
