Part 8 - Development of Roundwood Recreation Area - Multi Use Family Facility

In accordance with the provisions of PART XI, of the Planning Acts 2000 (as amended) and Part 8 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2000 (as amended), notice is hereby given that Wicklow County Council proposes to undertake:

In accordance with the provisions of PART XI, of the Planning Acts 2000 (as amended) and Part 8 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2000 (as amended), notice is hereby given that Wicklow County Council proposes to undertake:

Development of a recreational play area at Mullinaveagh, Roundwood, Co. Wicklow. It is proposed to develop and construct a multi-use family facility including the following: family play trail, family cycle area, sensory play area,  junior play area, eco toilets, log cabin structure, a timber tower, climbing area and low ropes course, car parking area, fencing and ground works and the installation of signage and information boards. 

In accordance with Article 81 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001(as amended), Wicklow County Council has concluded from a screening determination that there is no real likelihood of significant effects on the environment arising from the proposed development and that an Environmental Impact Assessment is not required.

Where any person considers that the proposed development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment, they may, at any time before the expiration of 4 weeks beginning on the date of publication of this notice, apply in accordance with the provisions of article 120 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended), to An Bord Pleanála for a screening determination as to whether the development would be likely to have such effects. 

Plans and particulars of the proposed development may be inspected (or purchased at a fee, not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy) at the offices of Wicklow County Council, County Buildings, Station Road, Wicklow Town, Co. Wicklow, during opening hours Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays, for a period between the 18th October and 16th of November 2023.  Plans and particulars of the proposed development will also be on public display at Roundwood Parish Hall and Centre, Main Street, Roundwood, Co Wicklow on Thursday 2nd of November 2023, from 5pm to 7pm, and are available to view on www.wicklow.ie/Living/consultationhub  

Submissions and observations with respect to the proposed developments dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the development would be situated can be made at www.wicklow.ie/Living/consultationhub or in writing to the undersigned clearly marked ‘Roundwood Recreation Area”.

All submissions must be received on or before 1st December 2023 by 5 pm.
