Wicklow County Council Library Service is committed to providing a service based on the pillars of education, information, recreation and culture. This is carried out within the framework of Wicklow County Council's Corporate Plan. A network of 13 branch libraries, positioned strategically throughout the county, deals with approximately 350,000 visitors throughout the year. Assistance from the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform enables a library service to be provided to Shelton Abbey Prison.A library service is provided on a monthly basis to nursing homes throughout the county.
You can join at any age and use the library services. If you are under 18 years you should ask your parent/guardian to accept the terms and conditions on your behalf. In order to join a person must complete an application form, either online or in person. S/he must visit a library and produce photographic identification (who they are) and proof of current address (where they live) to activate membership.
Library membership is free and gives you access to a range of services including:

- Online Language Learning
- Comics and Graphic Novels Online
