Black Castle Workshops and Exhibition

Help Shape the Future of the Public Lands Surrounding Wicklow's Iconic Black Castle

Community Workshops & Outdoor Exhibition - Part of National Heritage Week 2025

Wicklow County Council and the Wicklow Town Team, in collaboration with the appointed consultants Studio Idir, are delighted to invite the public to participate in a day of community engagement and creative exploration around the public lands surrounding the historic Black Castle ruins in Wicklow Town. The event will take place on Thursday, 21st August, as part of National Heritage Week 2025.

This initiative is funded by the Town and Village Renewal Scheme through the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht. It is part of a larger project to develop a comprehensive design plan aimed at enhancing the public lands around Black Castle. The project also includes an assessment of the condition and structure of the Black Castle ruins as part of the overall site strategy.
