Rent Review 2025

Wicklow County Council has begun a Rent Review for all tenants of Social Housing within County Wicklow.

Rent Review forms have been posted directly to all relevant homes. If you have not received a letter please contact Wicklow County Council.

Deadline for return of completed forms is Friday 12th September 2025, via the freepost envelope provided with the letter and form.

Before returning the completed form, please ensure to include details of ALL occupants and all paperwork and supporting documentation is included.

Under your Tenancy Agreement, failure to return your completed forms may result in a penalty.

What date has the completed differential rent form to be returned to Wicklow County Council?
The differential rent form and all supporting documentation must be returned on or before 12th September 2025.

No. Please use the self-addressed envelope to make your return. No postage stamp is required.
I filled out a form a few weeks back, will that do?
No! The new differential rent form sent to you by post on the 25th August 2025 must be completed and supporting documentation sent again.
A member of the household has left the home since my last differential rent form was completed, what should I do?
Complete section B of the differential rent form ensuring to provide proof of the person’s forwarding address.
A person has moved into the home since my last differential rent form was completed, what should I do?
Complete section B of the differential rent form.
I receive maintenance for my child / children, do I have to give details of child maintenance?
No, child maintenance is not assessed under the new rent scheme.
I receive carers allowance / benefit, do I have to give details of this income.
Carers allowance / benefit is not assessed under the new scheme unless it is the person’s only source of income.
My child receives job seekers allowance; do I have to declare this on the differential rent form?
Yes. All household income must be declared on the differential rent form and supporting documentation attached.
What is Wicklow County Council’s Rent based on?
Wicklow County Council’s rent is based on the differential rent scheme, which means the rent is assessed based on the household’s income.
I made an error on the differential rent form, where can I get a new form?
You can download a form from Wicklow County Council’s website, call 0404 20100 ask for the Rents Team and a copy will be posted out to you or you can call to any of Wicklow County Council’s offices and they will have forms available to give you.
Will my rent increase?
If your household income has increased since your last rent assessment, yes, your rent might increase.
Will my rent decrease?
If your household income has decreased / your rent was previously assessed on maintenance and or carers, yes, your rent might decrease.

Yes. Please contact 0404 20100 and explain your need or you can call into any of Wicklow County Council’s Offices where a member of staff will ensure you are put in touch with someone who can help you. Please do not hesitate to reach out for help if needed when completing your form.
I’m socially housed with an Approved Housing Body (AHB) why did I receive a differential rent form?
You previously applied with your AHB and were approved for assistance to meet your weekly rent payments to the AHB by way of Local Authority subsidy. Therefore the level of rent subsidy needs to be reviewed in line with any income change calculated under the new differential rent scheme 2026.
How many bank statements do I need to submit with my Differential Rent Form?
Please submit the latest three (3) months' statements.
My social welfare is paid through the Post Office; how many payment slips should I submit with my Differential Rent Form?
Please submit the latest three (3) payment slips.
