Arklow MD

6th July 2026 (2 weeks)

Wicklow County Council wishes to advise that essential upgrade works are to proceed along the R754 Knockanree to Kilmacoo Road from this coming Monday 06/07/2026 from 8am to 6pm.

A full road closure will be in place for a duration of the works.

Localised Traffic and Pedestrian Diversions will be in place, which are estimated to take two weeks to complete.

Wicklow County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused throughout the period of these works.

 

8th July 2026 (4 weeks)

Wicklow County Council wishes to advise that Phase One Works are to be carried out on the R753 Aughrim to Ballinaclash Road from Monday 08/06/2026 between the working hours of 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday to facilitate upgrades to footpaths and kerb lines.

Localised pedestrian and traffic management arrangements will be in place for the duration of the works for an estimated period of four weeks.

Wicklow County Council apologises for any inconvenience that may be caused.

 

2nd July 2026 (3 weeks)

Wicklow County Council wishes to advise that footpath upgrade works are to proceed along the R754 between the junction of the R772 and R754 Barndarrig and the junction of St. Mary’s Church, Barndarrig from this coming Thursday 02/07/2026 at 8am.

A full road closure will be in place for a duration during the daily working hours of 8am to 5pm, with an estimated work program of three weeks. Localised Traffic and Pedestrian Diversions will be in place during the duration of the works.

Wicklow County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused throughout the period of these works.

 

Baltinglass MD

20th July 2026 (3 weeks)

Wicklow County Council wishes to advise the public that drainage works will commence on L4365 Lake Drive Ballyknockan, starting on Monday the 20th of July 2026 for an initial period of three weeks to install a new drainage system.

These works will require traffic management and as a consequence of limited road widths, a traffic diversion will need to be in place during working hours on a limited number of days during the period.

Wicklow Council apologises for any inconvenience that may be caused.

16th July 2026 (4 weeks)

Wicklow County Council wishes to advise the public that roadwork’s will be on place on L 8347 Johnstown with a proposed starting date of Thursday 16th July 2026.

A localised temporary traffic management plan will be in place during the roadworks. 

The works have an expected duration of four days.

7th July 2026 (6 weeks)

Wicklow County Council wishes to advise the public that verge trimming, drainage works and general clean-up of the N81 will begin at Moanaspick on Tuesday the 7th of July 2026.

Works will proceed on the N81 between the South Dublin and Carlow Border over a six-week period. 

A localised temporary traffic management plan will be in place during the roadworks.

Greystones MD

1st - 22nd July 2026

Wicklow County Council hereby gives notice of roadworks on the following public road in order to carry out essential footpath works.

R762 – Rathdown Road, Greystones (150m road section outside St. Kevin's National School) from the 1st - 22nd July 2026.

A Stop/Go system and pedestrian diversions will be in place for the duration of the works.

Wicklow County Council wishes to apologies for any inconvenience caused during the works.

 

Extension of Road Closure

Wicklow County Council wishes to advise that the undermentioned Road Closure will come into effect from Monday, 3rd November 2025 until Friday 31st July 2026

Road to be Closed

L-1027-1 Chapel Road, Delgany

Period of Closure

Monday, 1st November 2025 to Tuesday, 31st March 2026

Alternative Routes

South Bound - Starts at the junction of Beechwood Park (L5220)/(L1027). South diversion is approx. 730m to roundabout at Delgany Wood. Drive 640m down Delgany Wood Avenue, turn left and continue 300m on Church Road until your reach the R761 North mini roundabout at Killincarrig. Turn left at the first exit and carry on 2.25km until you reach the Blacklion Manor Road.                                            North Bound - The North diversion is 1km to the Blacklion Manor Road then follow the South diversion route vice versa. 

Reason for Closure

This closure is necessary to facilitate the Chapel Road Pedestrain and Cyclist Infrastructure Improvement Scheme. 

 

Wicklow MD

21st & 22nd July

 

Wicklow County Council hereby gives notice of the temporary closure of the following public road.

Roads to be closed

R772 from the junction L5068 Ballyhenry , Ashford to the junction at Apple Green Service Station, Coynes Cross.

Period of closure

There will be a stop/go system in place on

Monday 20th and Thursday 23rd  to accommodate line marking works.

Road closure

Tuesday 21st July and Wednesday 22nd July 2026

From 6:00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.

Follow the L-5067 (Killoughter). Turn left onto the R761 (Barnacoyle Big). Travel north, turn left at the Junction on to the L-5064 (Kilmartin), then turn left onto the L-1064 to the roundabouts at J14 M11 and travel on to the R772 and vice versa.

This road closure is necessary to facilitate filming of a TV series

 

Uisce Éireann

Uisce Éireann is upgrading wastewater infrastructure at Bollarney, Wicklow Town to support future growth and development in the area.

The works involve the installation of 800 metres of rising main to cater for the future growth and development of the wider Wicklow Town area.

These works are being carried out as part of Uisce Éireann’s Growth and Development Programme and are expected to commence on 15th June 2026.

The section of works will take place along the R750 from Bollarney Woods as far as Abbey Street, Wicklow Town.

Standard working hours are 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday.

Traffic management will be in place to facilitate works. Flagmen will be on site during working hours, and temporary traffic lights will be in operation outside these hours.

This project is being delivered to support existing and future developments within the community. It will improve the capacity of the existing wastewater network in the area, improving performance and reducing demands on the current network.

The works will be carried out on behalf of Uisce Éireann by Coffey Ltd. and are expected to be completed by end of Summer.
