Wicklow County Council have been advised that significant water infrastructure works are due to be carried out by Uisce Éireann over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
The strategic pipeline connecting Ballymore Eustace Water Treatment Plant and Saggart Reservoir must be temporarily taken out of service to facilitate these critical repairs.
Uisce Éireann stated that while extensive preparations are being undertaken to minimise disruption, customers in parts of Wicklow may experience low water pressure, discoloured water or temporary interruptions to supply during and immediately following the works.
Specialist crews will work throughout a tightly managed shutdown window to complete the repairs safely and restore the pipeline to service as quickly as possible. Protecting water supplies for homes, businesses, hospitals, healthcare settings and other critical services remains a key priority for Uisce Éireann throughout the operation.
Uisce Éireann are asking customers to be mindful of their water usage and conserve water where possible over the August Bank Holiday weekend to help maintain supplies while these essential repairs are completed.
