Greystones South Beach to transform into a vibrant hub of free coastal sports, beachside yoga, and youth activities this August.
Wicklow Sports and Recreation Partnership (WSRP) has announced the full lineup for the third annual Greystones Beach Festival, taking place on Thursday, 13th August 2026, from 4pm to 8pm at Greystones South Beach. The evening event invites people of all ages and abilities to experience a diverse mix of free coastal sports, interactive family entertainment, and a dedicated seaside wellness space. Every activity on the night is fully beginner-friendly, requiring no prior experience.
The event aims to lower barriers to physical activity by providing a welcoming, high-energy environment where residents can try everything from open-water swimming to sand sports. Down on the sand, the beach will be alive with music, dancing, and a packed schedule of free activities, including water and sand sports alongside relaxing beachside Yoga, Pilates, and a sunset sound bath.
Up on the upper walkway, a vibrant festival hub will feature popular family favourites including free face painting, sensory toys, try-out rowing machines, and giant outdoor garden games like Jenga and snakes and ladders. The walkway will also host interactive community stands to meet local sports clubs and wellness brands, alongside a limited supply of free pizza from Bosca Capaill Pizzeria for early arrivals.
While many festival activities are open for drop-in on the day, specific sessions—including introductory sea swimming with Swim Ireland and beach volleyball with Volleyball Ireland—require pre-booking due to limited capacity. Wicklow Sports and Recreation Partnership is also delighted to team up with the Greystones Wellness Hub this summer to provide a dedicated beachside wellness space. As a local community hub that blends health, fitness, nature and connection, they will host a range of free outdoor activities, including beach yoga, breathwork, sound bath and more, designed to help visitors unwind, feel revitalised and connect with Greystones’ vibrant wellness community. Visitors can also meet local wellness brands offering complimentary mini experiences and giveaways.

Between water sports like rowing and sailing and the free play areas for kids, it’s really about giving everyone a fun, hassle-free way to try something new, and no experience needed.”
