M11

Roadworks will take place on the M11 next week.

Traffic management will be in place, off-peak, for the duration of the works.

Notice of Temporary Road Closure and Special Limit - N11 Northbound Junction 7 to M11 Junction 5 - Monday 22nd June to Saturday 18th July 2026

Wicklow County Council hereby gives notice of the temporary closure of the following public roads.  There will also be a Road Works Speed Limit Order in place, please visit  for details :

N11 Northbound Junction 7 to M11 Junction 5

Period of closure

Monday 22nd June to Saturday 18th July 2026

From 21:00 to 6:00 each night,

Monday to Friday excluding weekends

Alternative Routes

Diversion via: N11 Junction 7 – R768 – R761 – R119 – M11 Junction 5.

Intermediate junctions will be closed as required to facilitate the works.

Local access will be maintained where necessary,

Arklow MD

Section of the L1113 Kilmacurragh

Wicklow County Council hereby gives notice of the temporary closure of the following public road.

Roads to be closed

Section of the L1113 Kilmacurragh

from Kilcandra/L1113 junction to Deputy’s Pass junction.

Period of closure

Friday 3rd, Monday 6th and Tuesday 7th July, 2026

From 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. each day. (weather permitting)

Provisional backup dates: 8th, 9th, 13th, 14th and 15th July 2026

THREE  of these dates will be used if the 3rd, 6th and 7th July are not favourable.

Alternative Routes

  • Kilcandra Rd, continuing onto the L1152, then turning right onto the R752, continuing on and turning right onto Deputy’s Pass.
  • From Deputy’s Pass, diversion is vice versa

Reason for Closure

This road closure is necessary to facilitate filming.

 

Section of the R772 - South of Jack Whites.

Wicklow County Council hereby gives notice of the temporary closure of the following public road.

Roads to be closed

Section of the R772 - South of Jack Whites.

From the Roundabout at Jack Whites (Jct 19) to the Roundabout at the L-6177 (Coolmore)

Period of closure

Tuesday 7th July 2026

From 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. (Weather permitting)

Provisional backup dates: 8th,  9th, 13th, 14th 15th July

ONE of these dates will be used if the 7th July is not favourable.

 

Alternative Routes

M11

from Arklow -R750 (Coast Road)

travel to Brittas Bay and turn left onto the R753 link onto the R772 northbound and vice versa travelling south.

 

Reason for Closure

This road closure is necessary to facilitate filming.

 

 

Baltinglass MD

Wicklow County Council wishes to advise that essential upgrade works are to proceed along the R754 Knockanree to Kilmacoo Road from this coming Monday 06/07/2026 from 8am to 6pm.

A full road closure will be in place for a duration of the works.

Localised Traffic and Pedestrian Diversions will be in place, which are estimated to take two weeks to complete.

Wicklow County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused throughout the period of these works.

 

Wicklow County Council wishes to advise that Phase One Works are to be carried out on the R753 Aughrim to Ballinaclash Road from Monday 08/06/2026 between the working hours of 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday to facilitate upgrades to footpaths and kerb lines.

Localised pedestrian and traffic management arrangements will be in place for the duration of the works for an estimated period of four weeks.

Wicklow County Council apologises for any inconvenience that may be caused.

 

Wicklow County Council wishes to advise that footpath upgrade works are to proceed along the R754 between the junction of the R772 and R754 Barndarrig and the junction of St. Mary’s Church, Barndarrig from this coming Thursday 02/07/2026 at 8am.

A full road closure will be in place for a duration during the daily working hours of 8am to 5pm, with an estimated work program of three weeks. Localised Traffic and Pedestrian Diversions will be in place during the duration of the works.

Wicklow County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused throughout the period of these works.

 

Greystones MD

Wicklow County Council hereby gives notice of roadworks on the following public road in order to carry out essential footpath works.

R762 – Rathdown Road, Greystones (150m road section outside St. Kevin's National School) from the 1st - 22nd July 2026.

A Stop/Go system and pedestrian diversions will be in place for the duration of the works.

Extension of Road Closure

Wicklow County Council wishes to advise that the undermentioned Road Closure will come into effect from Monday, 3rd November 2025 until Friday 31st July 2026

Road to be Closed

L-1027-1 Chapel Road, Delgany

Period of Closure

Monday, 1st November 2025 to Tuesday, 31st March 2026

Alternative Routes

South Bound - Starts at the junction of Beechwood Park (L5220)/(L1027). South diversion is approx. 730m to roundabout at Delgany Wood. Drive 640m down Delgany Wood Avenue, turn left and continue 300m on Church Road until your reach the R761 North mini roundabout at Killincarrig. Turn left at the first exit and carry on 2.25km until you reach the Blacklion Manor Road.                                            North Bound - The North diversion is 1km to the Blacklion Manor Road then follow the South diversion route vice versa. 

Reason for Closure

This closure is necessary to facilitate the Chapel Road Pedestrain and Cyclist Infrastructure Improvement Scheme. 

 

Wicklow MD

Wicklow County Council wish to advise that the R752 road, for a section of approximately 150m in the centre of Glenealy at the bridge will be subject to a stop and go system on

Friday 26th June 2026, from 7:00 am. to 6:00 pm, to facilitate road resurfacing.

The L 1090 road from the bridge to the GAA pitch will be closed at the same time to facilitate road surfacing in this area.

Traffic management and diversion signs will be in place.

Works will continue Monday 29th June from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, on the R752, with the replacement of speed ramps. These works will be subject to a stop and go system.

These works are necessary for road resurfacing and for repair of speed ramps.

Wicklow County Council apologise for any inconvenience these works may cause.

 

Wicklow Pride Parade 2026

Wicklow County Council hereby gives notice of the temporary closure of the following public roads

  • Morton's Lane - from Fitzwilliam Road / High Street junction

  • Castle Street from Quarantine Hill to Black Castle

Period of closure

 

Saturday 4th July 2026

From 1.15 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.

 

Alternative Routes

 

 

For northbound traffic from Summer Hill

From Market Street - Kilmantin Hill - Convent Road – St. Laurence’s Road –

St. Mantan's Park -–St. Patrick's Avenue -at the T-junction turn left onto Abbey Street.

For southbound traffic from Abbey Street

St. Patrick's Road-Turn left at Fitzwilliam Row Car Park to Fitzwilliam Road- Morton's Lane junction - Hillside Road - Bayview Road -  Kilmantin Hill-

Turn right at Monument onto Market Street.

Local access will be maintained and for Emergency Services.

Diversion signage will be in place.

Uisce Éireann

Uisce Éireann is upgrading wastewater infrastructure at Bollarney, Wicklow Town to support future growth and development in the area.

The works involve the installation of 800 metres of rising main to cater for the future growth and development of the wider Wicklow Town area.

These works are being carried out as part of Uisce Éireann’s Growth and Development Programme and are expected to commence on 15th June 2026.

The section of works will take place along the R750 from Bollarney Woods as far as Abbey Street, Wicklow Town.

Standard working hours are 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday.

Traffic management will be in place to facilitate works. Flagmen will be on site during working hours, and temporary traffic lights will be in operation outside these hours.

This project is being delivered to support existing and future developments within the community. It will improve the capacity of the existing wastewater network in the area, improving performance and reducing demands on the current network.

The works will be carried out on behalf of Uisce Éireann by Coffey Ltd. and are expected to be completed by end of Summer.
