N11/M11 and M50

 

Wicklow County Council wish to advise motorists that works will take place on the N11/M11, and also notification of works on the M50 on the following dates.

Traffic management will be in place during off-peak hours , for the duration of the works.

 

N11/M11

Monday 23rd March (22:00 – 06:00):

  • N11 Northbound – Junction 8 – Exit Closed
  •  Diversion via N11 NB / N11 J7 / N11 SB / N11 J8

  • N11 Southbound – Junction 8 – Localised Traffic Management

            Tuesday 24th March (22:00 – 06:00):

  • N11 Northbound – Junction 8 Exit - Closed
  •    Diversion via N11 NB / N11 J7 / N11 SB / N11 J8

  • M11 Southbound – Junction 17 Entry – Closed

M50

Thursday 26th March (22:00 – 06:00):

Baltinglass MD

Baltinglass  Graveyard Works.

 Wicklow County Council wishes to advise the public that Civil Engineering works are currently being carried out in Baltinglass Graveyard.

 These works are required to enable surfacing of graveyard footpaths at a later date. The works have an expected duration of 2 weeks.   

 A localised temporary traffic management plan will be in place during the course of the works.  ( some of the works are at the junction of the public road)

 Wicklow County Council apologises for any inconvenience that may be caused,

 

 

N81 Hollywood Cross Rural Traffic Calming Road Safety Improvement Scheme – Commencement of Roadworks

Glas Civil Engineering limited have been appointed by Wicklow County Council as works Contractor for the Construction Implementation and handover phases of the  ‘N81 Hollywood Cross Rural Traffic Calming Road Safety Improvement Scheme’. The planned construction start date is Monday 21st of July and It is expected that these essential road safety works will be complete in Q1 of 2026.

Works include:

✓ Site clearance and enabling works

✓ Full depth road and footpath construction

✓ Road regulating and resurfacing works

✓ Installation of Bus Stops and associated infrastructure

✓ Construction of new drainage network,

✓ New kerb lines, tie ins and footpaths,

✓ Installation of 3 pedestrian crossings,

✓ Landscaping works,

✓ Installation of new line marking and road markings along the route

✓ Utility diversions

✓ Public Lighting

✓ All other ancillary work

During completion of the works, it will be necessary to make amendments to the existing road layout by the installation of temporary traffic management measures. Glas Civil Engineering limited will endeavour to minimise the disruption caused by these works, and we apologise in advance for any inconvenience that may be caused.

 

Greystones MD

Extension of Road Closure

Wicklow County Council wishes to advise that the undermentioned Road Closure will come into effect from Monday, 3rd November 2025 until Friday 31st July 2026

Road to be Closed L-1027-1 Chapel Road, Delgany
Period of Closure Monday, 1st November 2025 to Tuesday, 31st March 2026
Alternative Routes South Bound - Starts at the junction of Beechwood Park (L5220)/(L1027). South diversion is approx. 730m to roundabout at Delgany Wood. Drive 640m down Delgany Wood Avenue, turn left and continue 300m on Church Road until your reach the R761 North mini roundabout at Killincarrig. Turn left at the first exit and carry on 2.25km until you reach the Blacklion Manor Road.                                            North Bound - The North diversion is 1km to the Blacklion Manor Road then follow the South diversion route vice versa. 
Reason for Closure This closure is necessary to facilitate the Chapel Road Pedestrain and Cyclist Infrastructure Improvement Scheme.
