SECTION  75  -  ROADS  ACT,  1993

PROVISION  FOR  TEMPORARY  CLOSURE  OF  PUBLIC  ROAD 

 

 

BRAY MUNICIPAL DISTRICT

Wicklow County Council hereby gives notice that it proposes the temporary closure of the following public roads

 

 

Road to be closed

 

 

Beech Road, Bray ( L-15802-0)

Period of closure

 

 

Monday 30 June, 2025 to Monday 14 July, 2025

 

 

Alternative Routes

 

 

The temporary diversion route will be via temporary road link between Beech Road and Thornhill View to accommodate essential road works.

 

 

Reason for Closure

 

 

This closure is necessary to facilitate the reconstruction of a failed section of the roadway.

 

 

Any person wishing to object to the proposed road closure must lodge their objection in writing to Transportation and Infrastructure Delivery, Wicklow County Council, County Buildings, Wicklow Town, Co Wicklow or via email at roadtran@wicklowcoco.ie  not later than 12.00 noon on Tuesday 10th June, 2025.

Albert Avenue, Bray, Co. Wicklow

Period of closure

 

Tuesday 8th to Wednesday 9th July, 2025.

Between 09:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day.

 

 

Alternative Routes

 

Diversion Route A

Galtrim road traffic to turn left onto Adelaide Road, continue on Adelaide Road turning right onto Quinsborough Road turning right onto Strand Road, continue on Strand Road to Albert Avenue junction.

 

Diversion Route B

Adelaide Road traffic to turn right onto Galtrim Road, continue straight to Novara Terrace, turn right onto Novara Avenue, continue straight to Sidmonton Road, turn left onto Convent Avenue to Strand Road junction.

 

 

Reason for Closure

 

 

This closure is necessary to facilitate  reinstatement work on the Gas Network.

 

Any person wishing to object to the proposed road closure must lodge their objection in writing to Transportation and Infrastructure Delivery, Wicklow County Council, County Buildings, Wicklow Town, Co Wicklow or via email at roadtran@wicklowcoco.ie  not later than 12.00 noon on Tuesday 10th June, 2025.

 Abbey Street (from St. Patrick’s Road junction to Main Street)

  • Main Street
  • Upper Mall
  • Lower Mall
  • Fitzwilliam Square to Church Street junction
  • Morton’s Lane -from Fitzwilliam Road / High Street junction
  • Quarantine Hill
  • Castle Street -from Quarantine Hill to Black Castle

 

Period of closure

 

Saturday 5th July 2025

From 1:00 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.

 

 

Alternative Routes

 

For northbound traffic from Summer Hill

  • continue onto Market Street and turn left onto Kilmantin Hill
  • turn right onto Convent road at Holy Rosary
  • continue up the hill to turn right onto St. Laurence’s Road
  • continue straight through St. Mantan’s Park and St. Patrick’s Avenue
  • turn right onto St. Patrick’s Road at T-junction
  • turn left onto Abbey Street
  •  

For southbound traffic from Abbey Street

  • Turn right onto St. Patrick’s Road
  • Turn left at Fitzwilliam Row Car Park onto Fitzwilliam Road
  • Turn right at Morton’s Lane junction onto Hillside Road
  • Continue onto Bayview Road Kilmantin Hill
  • Turn right at Monument onto Market Street

 

Local access will be maintained and Diversion signage will be in place.

 

 

Reason for Closure

 

 

This closure is necessary in order to facilitate the Wicklow Pride Parade.

 

Any person wishing to object to the proposed road closure must lodge their objection in writing to Transportation and Infrastructure Delivery, Wicklow County Council, County Buildings, Wicklow Town, Co Wicklow or via email at roadtran@wicklowcoco.ie  not later than 12.00 noon on Tuesday 10th June, 2025.
