CHRISTMAS LIGHTS TO SHINE BRIGHTLY FOR GREYSTONES 2018

It’s that wonderful time of the year again as Greystones Municipal District and local businesses in the town come together to support the installation of Christmas lights and the festivities around Santa’s arrival.

This year’s lighting event will kick off in Burnaby Park at 4:00pm on Saturday 24th November with an afternoon of family entertainment with Paul Byrne as MC.  There will be music and songs by Templecarrig School choir and performances from “Classic Harmony” and “The Queen who cancelled Christmas”.

Local clergy will relate the true spirit of Christmas in a short ecumenical service and the lights will be switched on by the Cathaoirleach of Greystones Municipal District, Cllr Nicola Lawless, and Mr Ross McParland from Greystones 2020.

There will be over  1km of icicle lights throughout the town and two 30-foot-tall Christmas trees, each adorned with three thousand lights: one at the train station and one at the Harbour Marina.

At 5:00pm, with special thanks to the Greystones Fire Brigade, Santa will arrive by Fire Engine to meet and greet all the children.

Let the Christmas Magic begin in Greystones!
