The members of Greystones Municipal District held the 2026 People of the Year Awards on 16th June 2026.

Awards were presented as follows: Sports Award - Lucianne Hughes;  Joint  Civic Award - Philip McGaley;  Joint Civic Award - Declan Greene;   Special Award - Alice O'Donnell;  Cultural Award - La Touche Legacy Committee;  Commercial Award - Susan Collins Home of Hair;  Youth Recognition Award - Greystones Trilateral Student Group;  Special Recognition Award - John McGowan.

The Awards Presentation Dinner was held at a function in Greystones Golf Club and was attended by Wicklow County Council Cathaoirleach Councillor Dr. Caroline Winstanley; Cathaoirleach of Greystones Municipal District Councillor Lourda Scott, and Greystones Municipal District Councillors Mark Barry, Louise Fenelon Gaskin, Tom Fortune and Stephen Stokes. 

The Tanaiste and Minister for Finance, Deputy Simon Harris, was also in attendance as was Deputy Jennifer Whitmore.

The awards are held each year to honour people for their achievements and their contribution to the community.
