As part of its commitment to supporting local community development, Wicklow County Council operates an annual Community Award Scheme.
The purpose of Wicklow County Council's Community Grant Scheme is to assist local community and voluntary groups, including sporting, arts and cultural organisations, that would benefit from small scale or once-off funding to support the groups’ activities or to develop a particular project. The grant scheme gives the County Council the opportunity to recognise and value the voluntary contribution made by local groups in their own areas.
The scheme has attracted and funded a wide variety of activities. Each year, we receive hundreds of applications for the award scheme. The sheer volume is indicative of a healthy and vibrant civic society in Co. Wicklow, and a strong volunteer base. All of this increases the quality of life for everybody who lives in and who visits the county.
The categories of funding available changed in 2017:
Community Grants (Maximum grant €2,000)
For small projects and group running costs
Community Pride (Maximum Grant €10,000)
The purpose of the Wicklow County Councils Community Pride Scheme is to support group with LARGE projects that make a significant impact and difference to the lives of the people in their community under the any of the following headings:
