Proposed Variation No. 5 revised the Wicklow Core Strategy and associated housing targets, and a number of related housing objectives set out in the Wicklow County Development Plan 2022-2028 Written Statement. This variation was proposed to take account of the ‘NPF Implementation: Housing Growth Requirements’ - Guidelines for Planning Authorities, issued under Section 28 of the Planning & Development Act 2000 (as amended) (July 2025).
Variation No. 5 to the Wicklow County Development Plan 2022 - 2028 was adopted and came into effect on 30 March 2026.
