Baltinglass MD

21st August 2026

Wicklow County Council herby gives notice of temporary road closures on Friday 21st of August 2026 at the following location, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

  • L4365  Carrigacurra  to Ballyknockan and Ballyknockan to Ballynastockan.  

These closures are necessary to facilitate Surfacing Dressing works.

The individual closures will last 3 to 6 hours, subject to weather conditions.

Temporary traffic management, closures, convoy systems, and local access will be in place.

Wicklow County Council apologise for any inconvenience caused.

 

18th August 2026

Wicklow County Council herby gives notice of the temporary road closures on Tuesday 18th of August 2026 at the following locations, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.:

18th - 26th August 2026

Wicklow County Council wishes to advise motorists that Road Surfacing works will take place on the R747, Kiltegan Road, Baltinglass, between St. Josephs Church and Beech Avenue from Tuesday 18th to Wednesday 26th August 2026 from 8:00am to 7:00 pm

Works will take 7 days to complete depending on weather conditions.

Traffic Management will be in place throughout the duration of the works.

Local Access will be provided.

Please drive with caution.

17th August 2026 (1 week)

Wicklow County Council wishes to advise the public that roadwork’s will be on place on the N81 at Haylands Blessington with a proposed starting date of Monday 17th August 2026 for an initial period of one week.

A localised temporary traffic management plan will be in place during the roadworks.

Wicklow County Council apologises for any inconvenience that may be caused.

 

7th July 2026 (6 weeks)

Wicklow County Council wishes to advise the public that verge trimming, drainage works and general clean-up of the N81 will begin at Moanaspick on Tuesday the 7th of July 2026.

Works will proceed on the N81 between the South Dublin and Carlow Border over a six-week period. 

A localised temporary traffic management plan will be in place during the roadworks.

Wicklow County Council apologises for any inconvenience that may be caused.

 

Greystones MD

19th August to 1st September 2026

 

Wicklow County Council hereby gives notice of roadworks on the following public road in order to install a new pedestrian crossing.

 

R761 Newcastle Road, Kilcoole (Opposite Colaiste Chraobh Abhann)

Wednesday 19th August - Tuesday 1st September

 

A Stop/Go system will be in place for the duration of the works.

Extension of Road Closure

Wicklow County Council hereby gives notice of the temporary closure of the following public roads:

Road to be closed

L-1027-1 - Chapel Road, Delgany.

Phase 1- extension of existing road closure

From the Junction of Beechbrook Park to the Junction of Chapel Road and Blacklion Manor Road.

Period of closure

Friday 31st July 2026 to Wednesday 30th September 2026

 

Alternative Routes

 

South bound

Starts at the Junction of Beechbrook Park (L5220) / (L1027). South diversion is approx. 730m to roundabout at Delgany Wood. Drive 640m down Delgany Wood Avenue, turn left and continue 300m on Church Road until you reach the R761 north mini roundabout at Killincarrig. Turn left at the first exit and carry on 2.25km until you reach the Blacklion Manor Road.

North bound

The North diversion is 1km to the Blacklion Manor Road then follow the south diversion route vice versa.

 

Reason for Closure

 

This closure is necessary to facilitate the Chapel Road Pedestrian and Cyclist Infrastructure Improvement Scheme

L-1027-1 - Chapel Road, Delgany.

Phase 2

Section from the Junction of Beechbrook Park (L-5222-0) to the Junction of Chapel Road/ Dromont (L-10284-0)

Period of closure

Monday 18th May 2026 to Wednesday 30th September 2026.

Alternative Routes

South bound

starts at the Junction of L1027 & L10272, allowing access to

L-10284-0. South diversion is approx. 600m to the roundabout at Delgany Wood. Drive 640m down Delgany Wood Avenue, turn left and continue 300m on Church Road until you reach R761 northern mini roundabout at Killincarrig. Turn left at the first exit and continue 2.25km until you reach the Blacklion Manor Road.

 

North bound

The North diversion is 1km to the Blacklion Manor Road then follow the south diversion route vice versa.

Wicklow County Council hereby gives notice of the temporary closure of the following public roads:

Section of the R763

Between the Tiglin Centre and Coillte Carpark entrance at

Devils Glen Wood.

Period of closure

Sunday 23rd  August 2026

From 10:00 to 19:00

Alternative Routes

LOCAL DIVERSION ROUTE

From west side of road closure

Off the R763, turn onto L-5072, and then turn right on to the R764, travel to the crossroads and turn right onto L-5063 at Newtownboswell and follow the road back to the R763.

 

From East side of the road closure

Off the R763 turn onto the L-5063 and travel to the crossroads at Newtownboswell and turn left onto R764, turn left on to L-5072, and follow the road back to R763.

 

DIVERSION ROUTE  2

From West side of the road closure (Annamoe)

Travel North on the R755 towards Roundwood. After 4.1KM turn right onto R764. Continue on the R764 for 11.5KM following signs for Ashford. Arrive at east side of the road closure (Ashford).

 

From East side of the road closure (Ashford)

Travel North off roundabout on the R764. Stay on R764 for 11.5KM. Following signs for Roundwood. At Roundwood turn left onto R755, stay on R755 for

4.1KM. follow signs for Annamoe, arrive at west side of road closure (Annamoe)

 

No access to Forest carpark on day of filming.

This road closure is necessary to facilitate filming.

 

 

4th August to  9th October 2026

Wicklow County Council hereby gives notice of the temporary closure of the following public road.

Roads to be closed

L-1059 & L-1060 Roundwood

Both roads will not be closed concurrently.

Period of closure

From Tuesday 4th August to Friday 9th October 2026

L-1059 Closure – Divert along the L-1059, L-5057 & L-5056

L-1060 Closure – Divert along the L-1059 & R755Traffic management will be in place

Reason for Closure

 

This road closure is necessary to facilitate Installation of a new watermain by Uisce Éireann.

Uisce Éireann is upgrading wastewater infrastructure at Bollarney, Wicklow Town to support future growth and development in the area.

The works involve the installation of 800 metres of rising main to cater for the future growth and development of the wider Wicklow Town area.

These works are being carried out as part of Uisce Éireann’s Growth and Development Programme and are expected to commence on 15th June 2026.

The section of works will take place along the R750 from Bollarney Woods as far as Abbey Street, Wicklow Town.

Standard working hours are 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday.

Traffic management will be in place to facilitate works. Flagmen will be on site during working hours, and temporary traffic lights will be in operation outside these hours.

This project is being delivered to support existing and future developments within the community. It will improve the capacity of the existing wastewater network in the area, improving performance and reducing demands on the current network.

The works will be carried out on behalf of Uisce Éireann by Coffey Ltd. and are expected to be completed by end of Summer.
