M11 Speed Limit signage and Wrong Way Drivers at Junctions, please see attached a schedule of works for the next week starting on Monday 27th July.

Works are starting Northbound at Junction 22 on Monday morning and will start at 9am daily, with traffic diverted to the next junction.

Arklow MD

27th - 28th July 2026 (2 days)

Wicklow County Council hereby gives notice of the temporary closure of the following public road.

Roads to be closed	Section of Lower Main Street, Arklow – L2901-0 From the junction at Main Street/ Bridge Street to the Brook
Period of closure	Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th July 2026 From 8:00 a.m. to 20:00 p.m.
Alternative Routes	From the Bridge, R772, turn right onto Main Street Turn left onto St. Mary’s Road. St. Mary’s Road and Station Road travel towards Connolly Street and Abbey Street From Abbey Street travel to Back Street and onto Lower Main Street.
Reason for Closure	This road closure is necessary to facilitate a water connection being carried out by Uisce Éireann.

 

Wicklow County Council apologise for any inconvenience that may be caused.

 

27th - 31st July 2026  (5 days)

Wicklow County Council wishes to advise that necessary resurfacing works, tree felling and drain clearance works are to proceed from Monday 27^th July to Friday 31/07/2026 for a one-week period along the R747 Vale Road from the Vale Road Roundabout, Main Street, Arklow to Woodenbridge.

A full 24hr road closure will be in place for the duration of the works, with Local Access Only being provided.

A full road diversion will be in place during the duration of these works. Wicklow County Council wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused during the duration of these works.

 

8th July 2026 (4 weeks)

Wicklow County Council wishes to advise that Phase One Works are to be carried out on the R753 Aughrim to Ballinaclash Road from Monday 08/06/2026 between the working hours of 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday to facilitate upgrades to footpaths and kerb lines.

Localised pedestrian and traffic management arrangements will be in place for the duration of the works for an estimated period of four weeks.

Baltinglass MD

31st July 2026 (1 day)

Wicklow County Council herby gives notice of temporary road closures on Friday, 31st July 2026 at the following location, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

R758 Lockstown.

These closures are necessary to facilitate Surfacing Dressing works.

The individual closures will last 3 to 6 hours, subject to weather conditions.

Temporary traffic management, closures, convoy systems, and local access will be in place.

Wicklow County Council herby gives notice of temporary road closures on Thursday  30^th July 2026 at the following locations, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

• L8314 Randelstown to Stratford

• L8265 Knockanarrign to Rustyduff Lower

• L83253 Colliga

These closures are necessary to facilitate Surfacing Dressing works.

The individual closures will last 3 to 6 hours, subject to weather conditions.

Wicklow County Council herby gives notice of temporary road closures between

Monday 27^th July and Tuesday 28 ^th July 2026 at the following locations, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

R412 Loughmogue to Dunlavin  

These closures are necessary to facilitate Surfacing Dressing works.

The individual closures will last 3 to 6 hours, subject to weather conditions.

Temporary traffic management, closures, convoy systems, and local access will be in place.

20th July 2026 (3 weeks)

Wicklow County Council wishes to advise the public that drainage works will commence on L4365 Lake Drive Ballyknockan, starting on Monday the 20^th of July 2026 for an initial period of three weeks to install a new drainage system.

These works will require traffic management and as a consequence of limited road widths, a traffic diversion will need to be in place during working hours on a limited number of days during the period.

16th July 2026 (4 weeks)

Wicklow County Council wishes to advise the public that roadwork’s will be on place on L 8347 Johnstown with a proposed starting date of Thursday 16th July 2026.

A localised temporary traffic management plan will be in place during the roadworks. 

The works have an expected duration of four days.

7th July 2026 (6 weeks)

Wicklow County Council wishes to advise the public that verge trimming, drainage works and general clean-up of the N81 will begin at Moanaspick on Tuesday the 7th of July 2026.

Works will proceed on the N81 between the South Dublin and Carlow Border over a six-week period. 

A localised temporary traffic management plan will be in place during the roadworks.

Greystones MD

28^th July to  7^th August 2026

Wicklow County Council hereby gives notice of roadworks on the following public road in order to install a new pedestrian crossing outside St. Patrick’s National School, Greystones.

           L-1203/Victoria Road, Greystones

            28^th July to  7^th August, 2026

           A Stop/Go system will be in place for the duration of the works.

27th - 29th July 2026 (3 days)

Wicklow County Council hereby gives notice of the temporary closure of the following public road.

L-5211 – Church Lane, Greystones will be closed for road resurfacing works between 08:00 – 18:00 from Monday 27^th to Wednesday 29^th July

Diversions via Rathdown Road and Bellevue Road will be in place for the duration of the works.

Local access for residents will be accommodated at all times.

Extension of Road Closure

Wicklow County Council wishes to advise that the undermentioned Road Closure will come into effect from Monday, 3rd November 2025 until Friday 31^st July 2026

Road to be Closed	L-1027-1 Chapel Road, Delgany
Period of Closure	Monday, 1st November 2025 to Tuesday, 31st March 2026
Alternative Routes	South Bound - Starts at the junction of Beechwood Park (L5220)/(L1027). South diversion is approx. 730m to roundabout at Delgany Wood. Drive 640m down Delgany Wood Avenue, turn left and continue 300m on Church Road until your reach the R761 North mini roundabout at Killincarrig. Turn left at the first exit and carry on 2.25km until you reach the Blacklion Manor Road.                                            North Bound - The North diversion is 1km to the Blacklion Manor Road then follow the South diversion route vice versa.
Reason for Closure	This closure is necessary to facilitate the Chapel Road Pedestrain and Cyclist Infrastructure Improvement Scheme.

 

Wicklow MD

30th July 2026 (5 days)

Wicklow County Council wish to advise that  works will take place on the R772 from  Kiltimon after the exit slip from the N11 to Kiladreenan.

Works will be subject to traffic management   from Thursday 30 ^th  July  from 7:00 am. to 7:00 pm and are expected to take 5 days.

To facilitate these works the slip road from the N11 on to the R772 will be closed between 10am and 4pm on Thursday 30^th with diversions in place.

Uisce Éireann

Uisce Éireann is upgrading wastewater infrastructure at Bollarney, Wicklow Town to support future growth and development in the area.

The works involve the installation of 800 metres of rising main to cater for the future growth and development of the wider Wicklow Town area.

These works are being carried out as part of Uisce Éireann’s Growth and Development Programme and are expected to commence on 15^th June 2026.

The section of works will take place along the R750 from Bollarney Woods as far as Abbey Street, Wicklow Town.

Standard working hours are 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday.

Traffic management will be in place to facilitate works. Flagmen will be on site during working hours, and temporary traffic lights will be in operation outside these hours.

This project is being delivered to support existing and future developments within the community. It will improve the capacity of the existing wastewater network in the area, improving performance and reducing demands on the current network.

The works will be carried out on behalf of Uisce Éireann by Coffey Ltd. and are expected to be completed by end of Summer.
