The Green Team

The Wicklow County Council Green Team was founded in January 2022. The Role of the Green Team is to support the Climate Action Team in promoting a greater awareness and understanding of Climate Change Issues throughout the organisation and to promote engagement in climate action, biodiversity, and nature based solutions across all activities and services delivered.           

Currently the Green Team has 23 members, representing different sections, municipal districts, the library service, the local enterprise office and outdoor staff.  Meetings are held every 6 -8 weeks where ideas and projects are formulated, discussed and put into action across the organisation.

    • Sewing for Sustainability Workshops in Libraries
    • Energy talk for staff from SEAI
    • Apple picking/pressing in Clermont

The aim is to foster a sense of environmental awareness and responsibility among all Wicklow Local Authorities staff which will hopefully inspire and motivate them both inside and outside of the workplace, to enhance knowledge and positivity of climate actions, no matter how small and to make Wicklow Local Authorities an improved, more climate resilient place to work for all
