Wicklow County Council Celebrates National Biodiversity Week 2025


Wicklow County Council is delighted to announce its participation in National Biodiversity Week 2025, running from May 17th to May 25th. The week will be packed full of events celebrating the rich biodiversity of Wicklow's natural landscapes. With something for everyone, all are invited to participate, and we hope that joining in the celebrations will encourage a deeper connection with nature and raise understanding about the importance of biodiversity conservation.

Events supported by Wicklow County Council

1.Fri 16 May, 3pm(start) – 3pm, Sat 17th May: 24 Hours, BioBlitz at the National Botanic Gardens, Kilmacurragh. All welcome, no booking required.

 

2.Thur 22 May, 2pm-5pm: ‘Beyond the Bloom’; Battling invasive species in upland Ecosystems.                      Book on https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/beyond-the-bloom-battling-invasives-in-upland-ecosystems-tickets-1357069002919

 

3.Sat 24 May, 4:30am – 6:30am: Dawn Chorus Walk at Brittas Bay, meeting at North Beach carpark. All welcome, no booking required.

 

4.Sat 24 May, 10:00am – 12:00: Connect to the Season: A Botanical Walk with Foraging, Folklore & Forest Bathing, St. Patrick's Missionary Society, Highpark Upper, Kiltegan, W91 Y022.  Booking essential by emailing eao@wicklowcoco.ie.

 

5.Sun 25 May, 10:00am – 12:00: Connect to the Season: A Botanical Walk with Foraging, Folklore & Forest Bathing, Clermont House, Rathnew, A67 X566. Booking essential by emailing eao@wicklowcoco.ie

 

All participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
