High tide Advisory Notice
The Office of Public Works wish to advise that there will be a period of high astronomical Spring Tides approaching Highest Astronomical Tide (HAT) in all coastal areas, on Friday 18th February 2022 (when combined with storm surge).
Storm surge levels associated with Storm Eunice are predicted to significantly increase in the following coastal areas from Friday morning 18th February as follows:
0.70m at Dublin Bay
0.70m at Wicklow Bay
0.60m at Arklow Bay
0.40m at Wexford Bay
You are advised to monitor very closely storm surge and sea level forecasts ahead of and throughout this notice period.
Note: Wave effects are not included in this forecast, which over short periods of time, can cause localised water levels to be elevated above those forecast (due to wave set-up).
All vessel owners are advised to have sufficient crew on stand-by, with ready access to their vessels, to regularly check their moorings and fendering, and to ensure that effective bilge pumping arrangements are in place.
Members of the public are advised to keep away from piers, breakwaters and exposed coastal areas.
