Wicklow Artists Salon #12: A Salon Afoot

You are invited to join the Wicklow Artists Salon for a creative walking experiment in Bray, led by artist Lian Bell.
Give a Saturday afternoon over to a contemplative walk, some enjoyable creative experimentation, and chats with other artists. And maybe even a pint. Artists of all kinds based in Wicklow are welcome to take part.
The aim by the time we disband is for us all to have met other local artists, expanded our creative network, tried something new, and had a walk together in the sea air. We expect the afternoon to hold some comfortable silences, some mild chaos, some unexpected thoughts, and some laughing.
The event is free, but ticketed. We’ll meet on Saturday 10th May at 2pm sharp at Signal Arts Centre, and we expect to end at about 6.30pm in the Harbour Bar.
The Wicklow Artists Salon is curated by writer Philip St John and visual artist Joanna Kidney. It is funded by The Arts Council, Wicklow County Arts Office and supported by Mermaid Arts Centre, The Courthouse Arts Centre in Tinahely, Killruddery House, Russborough House and Signal Arts Centre.
Lian Bell is an artist working across artforms, who also supports other artists and arts workers and designs acts of community-making. With a background in scenography, cultural project management, visual art, coaching, and social activism, she has worked over the past 25+ years with some of the most significant arts organisations and contemporary performance makers in Ireland. Whether collaborating on performance, making material-based works, writing texts, or
shaping intangible encounters, all aspects of Lian’s practice overlap aesthetically and ethically. She studied at Trinity College Dublin, Central St Martins in London, and the National College of Art and Design, has undertaken residencies in the Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris, Arteles in rural Finland, Sirius Art Centre in Cobh, and the National Sculpture Factory in Cork, and has received numerous awards for her work to date.
