Wicklow County Council Energy Management System (EnMS) is accredited to ISO 50001:2011 since 2023, addressing all aspects of the organisation’s energy use within the scope of the management system.

The Council has established a dedicated Energy Management Team and is committed to fostering a culture of continual energy performance improvement in line with its obligations to achieve a 50% improvement in energy performance by 2030 and a 51% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions (tCO₂ equivalent).

The EnMS framework supports structured planning, operational control, monitoring, auditing, and corrective actions, alongside the delivery of an annual programme of energy efficiency and energy-saving projects to ensure ongoing compliance and effectiveness.
