Digital Exhibition: Wicklow Library Service - A Walk Through Time

Public libraries have been at the heart of communities for over a century and represent an important part of our cultural, intellectual and built heritage. This digital exhibition uses archival documents and photographs to provide a visual snapshot of the development of Wicklow County Council Library Service from its first  Carnegie libraries to the present day.

Digital Exhibition: The Past in My Place 

In March 2023, Wicklow County Council Library Service teamed up with Local School Coláiste Chill Mantáin to curate 'The Past in My Place ' an exhibition of local history projects completed by second year history student's as part of their history Class Based Assessment. The exhibition aimed to showcase the rish history of County Wicklow while, at the same times, highlight the diverse heritage of the students attending the school. The exhibition contained displays form around the Wicklow district and from as far afield as Lithuania, Moldova and South Africa.

Video: A Walk in the Past - Wicklow's Carnegie Libraries

Michael Kelleher served the community in Bray Library, County Wicklow for over forty years before retiring in 2018. In this short video, Michael provides an entertaining and informative insight into the rich heritage of Wicklow’s Carnegie Libraries
