Abbey Grounds Park has been developed by Wicklow County Council. Funding towards the project was provided by Fáilte Ireland under the Destination Town Capital Investment Programme. The café is operated by Wicklow Social Enterprise, a collaboration between Wicklow Town Community Development and Tiglin, who will trade as the Rise Café. Wicklow Social Enterprise is a not-for-profit organisation.
The remaining areas of the park are expected to open to the public in September 2026, subject to the completion of the final works.
The park works had progressed sufficiently to safely accommodate the Taste of Wicklow event. However, a number of important construction and landscaping works still need to be completed before the park can open permanently in its entirety. These final works will ensure the park is fully completed, safe and ready for everyone to enjoy. We appreciate the public's patience and understanding during this short final phase of the project and look forward to welcoming everyone to the completed Abbey Grounds Park.
