Did you know you can access Arklow and Wicklow libraries from 8am to 10pm, 7 days a week, even outside of staffed hours?
Our branches in Arklow and Wicklow town are both My Open Libraries (MOLs). This means that they open from Monday to Sunday from 8am all the way through to 10pm. The libraries are staffed as normal from Monday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm (with late staffed opening on Tuesdays and Thursdays in both branches until 8:30pm).
Outside of these staffed hours, My Open Library members can avail of library services such as:
- Borrowing, returning and renewing library items though our self-service kiosks
- Use of the public PCs
- Use of the library WiFi
- Self-service printing
- Use of the library's study spaces
- Access daily newspapers.
To use these services outside of staffed hours, you will need to contact Arklow Library or Wicklow Library and have your borrower account upgraded to My Open Library membership. To to this, you will need to read and agree to the MOL membership terms and conditions and take a brief health and safety walkthrough of the branch. Contact Arklow Library or Wicklow Library for more details.
My Open Library membership is available to all new and existing adult library users, as well as Young Adult members aged 16 or over subject to their parent or guardian's permission.
If you're not already a member of the library, you can join online here and bring photo ID and proof of address to the branch on your next visit to receive your card and arrange to upgrade to MOL membership.
