100% Home Energy Grants Available To Eligible Arklow Households

100% HOME ENERGY GRANTS AVAILABLE TO ELIGIBLE ARKLOW HOUSEHOLDS

Wicklow County Council’s Warmer Homes Arklow launches on 29th October, offering free independent advice and weekly walk-in Energy Clinics to help eligible homeowners understand available grants and how to apply.

Arklow residents could qualify for 100% grant funding to make their homes warmer, more comfortable and more energy-efficient under the SEAI Warmer Homes Scheme Warmer Homes Arklow launching on 29 October will help homeowners avail of the grant.

Warmer Homes Arklow , a Wicklow County Council initiative will give local homeowners access to free, independent advice on the Warmer Homes Scheme energy grants available to them including support on how to make an application.

Warmer Homes Arklow is designed to answer the questions many homeowners have about how they qualify for the 100% funded grants: What works are available from the scheme? What other grants can I get? And where do I start?

Local residents are invited to come along to the official launch at Árus Lorcáin at 11.00 on the 29 October, where they can hear how the programme works and find out about the supports that may be available to them.

At the heart of Warmer Homes Arklow will be a series of free walk-in Home Energy Clinics at Árus Lorcáin, giving residents the chance to sit down one-to-one with a Home Energy Adviser. These take place every Thursday morning from 11am to 12pm and no appointment is necessary.

Peir Leonard, Cathaoirleach of Arklow Municipal District said bringing advice directly into the community would make it easier for Arklow residents to access the supports available and assist those most impacted by rising fuel costs.“A warmer, more energy-efficient home can mean greater comfort, lower energy use and reduced household bills. But knowing where to start can be difficult.“Warmer Homes Arklow is about making that first step easier. Residents will have somewhere local to go, someone to talk to and practical help to understand the grants and supports available. I would encourage people to come along on 29 October and find out what the programme could mean for their home.”

Chief Executive of Wicklow County Council Emer O Gorman welcomed the focus on homeowners in Arklow. “This project is part of our commitment to deliver climate action where it is most needed, helping homeowners to reduce emissions, while also delivering greater comfort and wellbeing for those who avail of the grants. I want to thank the Department of Climate Environment and Energy for funding this project as a Decarbonisation Zone demonstration in Arklow DZ”

Home Energy Advisor from Scope 123 Simon Whelan said the aim is to make the process as straightforward as possible for local households. “There are significant grants available to help people make their homes warmer and reduce their energy bills, with some households eligible for 100% funding. The problem is that many people simply don’t know what they qualify for or how to get started. Our walk-in clinics are a free service where you can sit down with a Home Energy Adviser, find out if you are eligible for 100% grant funding and get help with the application process. If you’re wondering whether there is support available for your home, come in and talk to us.”

Warmer Homes is an initiative for Arklow Decarbonisation Zone. It reflects Wicklow County Council’s commitment to supporting communities in the transition to a low-carbon future, while ensuring that the benefits of energy efficiency improvements, including improved home comfort and reduced energy costs, are accessible to eligible households. By bringing independent advice directly into the community, Warmer Homes Arklow aims to make it easier for residents to understand their options and take practical steps towards a more energy-efficient home.

The Warmer Homes Arklow launch on 29 October is open to the public and will provide an opportunity to meet the team, hear about the grants and supports available and find out how to use the new walk-in clinic service which will be held weekly on Thursday from 11.00 to 12.00 in Árus Lorcáin.
