County Wicklow Partnership and Wicklow County Council are pleased to announce the appointment of Bernie Byrne, a new employee dedicated to trail maintenance on the Wicklow Way.  

Bernie brings a lifetime of experience in upland Wicklow from farming to hill running. She will be responsible for the inspection and preventative of the Wicklow Way, ensuring that it remains safe, accessible, and enjoyable for residents and visitors alike.

Funding for this position has been generously provided by both Wicklow County Council and landowning members of the Wicklow Outdoor Recreation Committee.

This initiative reflects their commitment to promoting outdoor activities, supporting local tourism, and sustainably managing our wonderful outdoor infrastructure.
