7th September to 13th November

Notice of Road closure 

Roads to be closed	Phase 1: M11 Southbound Junction 13 to M11 Junction 16 Phase 2: M11 Southbound Junction 16 to M11 Junction 18
Period of closure	Monday 7th September to Friday 13th November 2026. From 21:00 to 06:00
Alternative Routes	Phase 1: M11 Southbound Junction 13 to M11 Junction 16 Exit the M11 southbound at Junction 13, at the roundabout, take the 2nd exit for L5050 Killadreenan. Continue to follow L5050 for 1.8km. At the junction, turn right on to R761 southbound. Continue to follow R761 for 9km. At the roundabout, turn tight to stay on R761, then turn right onto R772. Continue to follow R772 for 600 meters, at the roundabout, take the 1st exit to rejoin the M11 southbound at Junction 16. Phase 2: M11 Southbound Junction 16 to M11 Junction 18 Exit the M11 southbound at Junction 16, at the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto R772. Continue to follow R772 for 900 meters. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit to stay on the R772. Continue to follow R772 for 1.6km. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit to stay on R772. Continue to follow R772 for 300 meters. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit to rejoin the M11 southbound at Junction 18. Road closures will be in place Monday to Friday nights, inclusive. Intermediate junctions will be closed as required to facilitate the works. Local access will be maintained where necessary.
Reason for Closure	This road closure is necessary in order to facilitate Resurfacing works.

Arklow MD

2nd to 20th November 2026

Wicklow County Council wishes to advise that necessary resurfacing works are to proceed from Monday 02nd November to Friday 20th November 2026 for a three-week period along the R753 Regional Route from Ballinaclash Village to the Cronebeg Junction.

A full roads closure will be in place for the duration of the works, with Local Access Only being provided.

A full road diversion will be in place during the duration.

Wicklow County Council wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused during the duration of these works.

 

Baltinglass MD

27th October 2026 (3 weeks)

Wicklow County Council wishes to advise that roadworks will be in place on the L2137 Askanagap, starting on Tuesday the 27th of October 2026 for a period of three weeks.

These works will require traffic management during working hours.

2nd November to 18th December

Wicklow County Council hereby gives notice of the temporary closure of the following public roads.

Roads to be closed	Valleymount Bridge - R758 Burgage Bridge Road R758 Blessington Bridge Kilbride Road
Period of closure	Valleymount Bridge – R758 Monday 2nd November to Friday 13th November 2026 From 9.30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day Burgage Bridge – R758 Monday 16th November to Friday 4th December 2026 From 9.30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day Blessington Bridge Kilbride Road Monday 30th November to Friday 18th December,2026 From 9.30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day
Alternative Routes	Valleymount Bridge – R758 R756 to N81 and back onto R758 local access onto R758 up to the Valleymount Bridge Burgage Bridge – R758 R756 to N81 back onto R758 local access onto R758 up to the Valleymount Bridge Blessington Bridge Kilbride Road N81 to The Lamb village turn onto R759 then onto L4372 Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained Diversion signs for traffic will be in place
Reason for Closure	These road closures are necessary to facilitate Structural Investigations and testing on bridges.

Bray MD

9th November 2026

Wicklow County Council wishes to advise that road improvement works are scheduled to take place at several locations within the Bray Municipal District over the coming weeks.

All works will generally be carried out between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

The current programme of works is as follows:

L-1033 Crow Lane
From Monday, 9 November to Wednesday, 11 November 2026

L-1013 Ballyross
From Wednesday, 11 November to Friday, 13 November 2026

L-5029 Quill Road
Saturday, 14 November to Monday, 16 November 2026

Kilmacanogue Village
Works will progress to Kilmacanogue Village following completion of the Quill Road works.

Traffic management measures will be in place for the duration of the works at each location. Motorists should expect some delays and are advised to allow additional time for their journeys where possible.

Please note that the above programme may be subject to change due to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances.

Wicklow County Council apologise for any inconvenience these works may cause and thank the public for their cooperation.

 

3^rd November 2026 (2 weeks)

Wicklow County Council wishes to advise the public that night-time road resurfacing works will take place on the

R117 21 Bends Road in Enniskerry from Tuesday 3^rd November for two weeks, from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am. each night.

Advance drainage works will take place on the 3^rd and 4^th November during daytime hours also.

A stop/go traffic management system will be in place throughout the works.

Digital variable traffic signage has been erected on the road today advising motorists of the upcoming works.

Wicklow County Council apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank the public for their patience and cooperation.

 

5th October 2026 (7 weeks) 

Wicklow County Council wishes to advise that Enniskerry Town Renewal Works are due to commence this Monday 05th October 2026 and will be in place for approximately seven weeks.

A temporary traffic management system will be in place for the expected 7-week work period.

No full road closures or vehicular diversions are expected; however, the works will involve a stop/go being in place for a limited duration during the works.

The works will involve minor pedestrian diversions which will be subject to change over the course of the works, in line with operational requirements.

Greystones MD

9th to 23rd November

Wicklow County Council hereby gives notice of the temporary closure of the following public road.

Roads to be closed	R762, Church Road, Delgany
Period of closure	From 8:00 a.m. Monday 9th November to 6:00 p.m. Monday 23rd November 2026 Road will be fully closed between these dates and times.
Alternative Routes	Traffic approaching the closure on Church Road (R762) will be diverted via Delgany Wood Avenue, continuing onto Convent Road, and rejoining the road network beyond the closure point. Traffic travelling in the opposite direction will follow the same diversion route in reverse via Convent Road and Delgany Wood Avenue, rejoining Church Road beyond the closure point.
Reason for Closure	This road closure is necessary to facilitate Uisce Éireann Rehabilitation Works.

 

Wicklow MD

21st October 2026 (6-8 weeks)

Wicklow County Council wishes to advise the public that works will take place on the R772 at Killadreenan,  Newtownmountkennedy, Co. Wicklow, to construct a fully signalised pedestrian crossing, together with associated works.

Works will commence on the 21^st of October 2026 and are expected to take approximately 6–8 weeks to complete.

Traffic management will be in place from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday, for the duration of the works.
