At the meeting of Wicklow County Council on Friday 9th October, Councillors voted to maintain the Local Property Tax (LPT) rate for 2027 at the same level as 2026. The decision to retain the upward variation of 6% means that householders in Wicklow will face no increase to their LPT payments in 2027.
Local Property Tax is an important funding source for local authorities and contributes towards the cost of providing a range of local council services including libraries, public lighting, road maintenance, fire services, street cleaning, recycling services, maintenance of burial grounds, and tourism development.
