A spectacular county-wide line-up of pumpkin trails, festive camps, and spooky walks promises an unforgettable October for families.

Wicklow County Council proudly unleashes 'Samhain Wicklow', a thrilling county-wide celebration running throughout the entire month of October 2026. This vibrant festival transforms local towns with an action-packed line-up of family activities, featuring interactive pumpkin trails, professional face painting, eco-friendly costume swaps, creative Halloween camps, and eerie spooky walks hosted by enterprising local businesses.

Crafted to deliver ultimate seasonal excitement, Samhain Wicklow provides families with a safe, accessible, and high-energy environment to celebrate together. This targeted initiative actively champions local arts and culture, drives vital autumn footfall to seasonal businesses, and unites communities through unforgettable shared experiences.

Welcoming the launch of the month-long celebrations, the Cathaoirleach of Wicklow County Council, Cllr. Caroline Winstanley said "Samhain Wicklow is all about bringing seasonal magic straight into the heart of our towns and villages. We have a fantastic, safe, and action-packed line-up this October that not only gives families unforgettable memories during the mid-term break but also shines a vital spotlight on our incredible local businesses and creative artists."

Underscoring the strategic importance of the festival, the Chief Executive of Wicklow County Council, Emer O’Gorman, added "Samhain Wicklow represents a vital component of our ongoing commitment to sustainable economic development and community enrichment. By partnering directly with local businesses, arts groups, and community hubs, we are leveraging our cultural assets to stimulate the county's autumn economy. This month-long initiative not only drives local footfall during a traditionally quieter seasonal window but also establishes a scalable, collaborative framework for community-led events across Wicklow for years to come."
