Wicklow County Council has carried out emergency works at times to protect against coastal erosion. For instance at the Murrough, Wicklow County Council (in partnership with Irish Rail),  installed concrete “SeaBee” units and Rock Armour to protect the Murrough walkway and the railway line from the sea.  Picture: SeaBee units at the Murrough

Irish Rail have commissioned a study of the Wicklow Coastline, to protect against Coastal Erosion. This study has led to them setting up a project called the Coastal Infrastructure Protection Project. Picture: Coastal Cells as studied by Irish Rail
