Temporary Road Closure - St. Mary's Road, Arklow, Co Wicklow

Wicklow County Council hereby gives notice that it proposes the temporary closure of the following public road

Road to be closed

St. Mary’s Road, Arklow, Co Wicklow (L-6902).  The road will be closed from its junction with the R722 (Main Street) to its junction with Station Road

Period of closure

Monday the 25th October, 2021 to Friday the 12th November, 2021 inclusive

Alternative Routes

Westbound traffic on the R722 (Main Street) will be diverted via R722 (Main Street Upper) the R772 (Wexford Road), L-6901 (Liam Mellows Avenue), L-2901 (Abbey Street) and the L-6902 (St. Mary’s Road and Connolly Street)

 

Eastbound traffic on the R722 (Main Street) will be diverted via R722 (Main street) the L-2901 (Lower Main Street/Hudsons Square/Back Street and Abbey Street) and the L-6902 (St. Mary’s Road and Connolly Street)

Reason for Closure

This road closure is necessary in order to facilitate the installation of public lighting ducting and light pole foundations, drainage and amber crossing ducting.

 

Any person wishing to object to the proposed road closure must lodge their objection in writing with the undersigned not later than 12.00 noon on Wednesday the 29th September, 2021.
